Getting Started
How do I log a bowel movement?
Open the app and tap the large "+" button on the main screen. Follow the intuitive tap-based interface to select your Bristol stool type, urgency, pain, and any context triggers.
What is the Bristol Stool Chart?
The Bristol Stool Chart is a medical aid designed to classify the form of human faeces into seven categories. It's the clinical standard for tracking bowel habits. GutLog uses this standard to ensure your data is useful to your doctor.
Does GutLog require an account?
No. GutLog does not use accounts, passwords, or emails. Your data is stored locally on your device.
Privacy & Data
Where is my data stored?
Your health logs are stored strictly locally on your iPhone. We do not have servers that hold your health data.
How do I delete all my data?
You can delete all your data by going to Settings within the app and selecting "Delete All Data." Alternatively, simply deleting the app from your phone will also erase all local data.
Features
How does the Correlation Engine work?
The Correlation Engine (Pro feature) looks for patterns between triggers you log (like dairy or stress) and negative symptoms (like pain or bad Bristol scores) that occur within a rolling 4-hour window.
How do I generate a PDF report?
Go to the Analytics tab, scroll to the "Doctor Report" section, and tap "Generate PDF." Free users can generate up to 2 reports, while Pro users get unlimited exports. You can then share or print this document.
